Lately Suzuki has been on a new car launch spree and also discontinuing existing models. But Maruti may just force Suzuki to think twice.Maruti is able to achieve success with discontinued suzuki models which have been deemed outdated by the company. The Maruti Zen Estilo is the first generation MR wagon[second generation was out as early as 2005].
Not only is Maruti been able to sell reasonably in its home markets but it is also now achieving success with these vehicles in Global markets. The latest example being the Zen Estilo, whether the estilo is a success story in its home market[india] is a debatable thing with quite a few people thinking that the car may not have yet achieved what it was set to do however the estilo seems to be a golden goose as far as exports are concerned.First it was the Indonesian markets, now its the sri lankan markets where the Maruti Zen Estilo seems to be well received and it has yet to be fully launched there.Maruti also plans exports to other non-european markets.
This success may just mean Suzuki may just go slow on its Global line-up replacement drive.
