Honda takes the most reliable Car manufacturer badge away from Toyota

It has relatively been a bad year for Toyota while Honda have just got a shot in their arm for their whole image improvement exercise.

The most reliable car manufacturer award long associated with Toyota has suddenly slipped away due to problems associated with the Camry,Lexus GS and the Tundra pick-up.For the first time since 1996 Camry has lost out in its category.

The long held tag that the Japanese[especially Toyota] makes bullet proof vehicles is suddenly under threat and Toyota would do well to remember it's these very reliability surveys that made it the company it is today. It does not take very long to fall from the top or for your competitors to catch up[Ford and Buick have shown tremendous improvements though not yet anywhere close to being a rival to Toyota].Have already been pointing out earlier Toyota is making similar mistakes like GM did once.Toyota is suddenly being associated with gas guzzling vehicles which are boring to drive and having uninspiring designs, however the biggest issue are the number of recalls they seem to be too high.

The good thing is Toyota have indeed taking this Consumer report survey seriously and are looking at a way to get back the Number one position once again.

Congratulations Honda for sticking to its roots.

PS: Just as I was speaking about reliability issues at Toyota heres comes this bit of news:
Toyota to recall 470,000 cars due to defective parts
