Honda India say's no to diesel's again with reason

Once again Honda India has said c-segment car owners in India don't need a diesel, well atleast what they feel according to a survey they conducted never mind that those manufacturers with diesel's in this segment quote that 70% of their sales comes from diesel's,45 per cent of all cars sold in the country will be diesel by 2015 say Siemens-VDO.].

Honda have reason not to be worried because their sales have not at all taken a dip even after new car launches in this segment and their anniversary ad blitz will only get more sales.Honda only sold 40 less city's than the newly launched Maruti SX4[incidentally should now has the tag as india's largest selling sedan at least momentarily].The newer generation city will give Honda a further big boost and wonder even if the diesel trick for the SX4 would be enough. So Honda are not wrong on the we don't need diesel engines thing aren't they.

Honda India recommends a diesel engine only if you plan to cover 23,000km or more in a year, while most in India cover about 18,000km which makes them ideal candidates for petrol engines.

Honda is also lobbying for promoting hybrids in India and pretty soon we will get the civic hybrid here, the only question is what premium we would have to pay compared to the only petrol option.
