Is fuel efficiency going to be the only factor that will decide which car you buy now that filling a tankful of diesel means you need to stack up cash not in your wallet but in the boot.
Hindustan Motors believes it will. They are betting on increasing sales by improving the fuel efficiency of the Ambassador. The ambassador will now get BS-3 engines which should up the fuel efficiency from the present 11kmpl to 16kmpl.
Hindustan motors have honestly stated that they are targeting tourist operators and current owners of the cars[they have started some incentives for exchanging their old cars for new ones for which you would be rewarded with Rs.35,000].
Why don't Hindustan motors look up the dictionary for the term shelf-life.Yes the ambassador was a great car but it just does not stand a chance amongst the far more modern rivals. For the sake of one of the greatest cars to have hit our roads lets hope Hindustan Motors does not drag around with the ambassador further.
