Toyota Transportation to come to India by 2008

All Indian automobile manufacturers better watch out toyota is planning something real big for the indian market and the seriousness with which it is taking the Indian market can be gouged by the fact that Toyota plans to get its own inhouse transportation business in India by next year[2008] with the help of a local joint venture.

The planned firm is expected to be in Bangalore, where the Toyota assembly factory is situated. Toyota Transportation is searching for a partner and plans to hammer out details as soon as early next year. The Japanese company intends to take majority control of the joint venture, which may also be partly owned by a third party -- possibly a trading house.
