Mercedes launches the Viano in India

Mercedes have launched their Viano MPV in India with a price tag of Rs.45 lakhs. In Mercedes words the van is built for anything and is supposedly said to offer five star comfort for eight passengers and also have lots of storage space along with providing them a safe journey. For India the MPV would have a 2.2L[CDI] common rail diesel engine.

Now the real question is has the Indian market matured enough to accept a van with a such a high price tag.Even reviewers from the more developed countries[UK] feel disappointed with the vehicle and find it overpriced don't see a reason why the Indian market will think differently, heres what they have to say about the vehicle in one word: AVOID

Fifth Gear

Top Gear

Who's going to buy this car in India you say, mostly the hoteliers and the super-luxury cab service providers in India. As far as individual consumers are concerned I think they would stick with the sedans and the Suv's from Mercedes.
