Fiat is all set to go on an aggressive marketing campaign in order to establish the brand before the launch of the Linea and the Grande Punto. They have dumped their previous ad agency Leo Burnett who have been associated with Fiat India for the past six years and are on the lookout for a new agency to help them once again reestablish the brand in India.
From a point where the parent company had to write off losses of the Indian operations,Fiat India now expects to break even by 2009.Globally too the Grande Punto and the Linea have done wonders for fiat and fiat are hoping the two can work their magic in the Indian markets as well. The Grande Punto would be competing with the likes of the Maruti swift and the Hyundai getz while the Linea is expected to take on the Honda city and the Maruti Sx4.Pricing is still speculative only but Fiat says it would be very competitive.
Fiat has teamed up with Tata motors to market their products in India. What would be really interesting would be the fact that how Tata manages to market the Fiat cars as well as its own cars in such a way that both don't eat into each others sales cause both these cars from Fiat are expected to directly compete with the newer generation products from Tata[Indica+Indigo].
