Skoda to launch Fabia on January 10th 2008 in India

Skoda have set the launch date for their small car entry to be on january 10th 2008 at the auto expo in New Delhi[same day tata plans to launch the one lakh car,apart from a few other launches],skoda are keen to steal away some of the limelight at the auto expo.

Initially the car was planned to be launched by year end 2007 but now they have pushed it to the 2008 auto expo,The car is expected to be priced between 5-7 lakhs depending on the petrol and diesel variants,with diesel being the more expensive option.It is being projected as a premium alternative to the existing small cars.Skoda would do well to remember that Indians aren't really known to go for a hatch at these prices and skoda sales at these prices would be of interest.
