Maruti bags order for exporting the Estilo to Indonesia

The estilo is not exactly doing what it was intended to do,set the indian car sales charts on fire .One of the main reasons could be the popularity of its stable mate the wagon-r.Also increasing competition in the small car segment from other competitors could further dent maruti sales in the Indian market,so Maruti have found a way out by selling their cars in markets abroad.

Country's biggest car maker Maruti Udyog Ltd, which has been exploring new overseas markets to boost exports, has got a shot in the arm with its compact car Zen Estilo receiving an order for 12,000 units from Indonesia.

The company now plans to ship 1,000 units of the model every month to the South East Asian country, where it is up against competitors like Atos from Hyundai, QQ Chery and Kia Picanto.

Commenting on the good response in new markets a company spokesperson said: "Of late we have focussed on non-European markets. It has grown by over 65 per cent in Middle-East, Africa, South Asia and South America."

Maruti also plan to launch a small car extensively for europe,in all probability the suzuki splash which would could also find its way to Indian shores as well.
