Chrysler to Focus on India,China

Highlighting the importance that automobile manufacturers are giving to the Indian and Chinese markets Chrysler have added a specialist for this job in their all star management line-up.

Cerebrus have roped in Phil Murtaugh, who will run Chrysler's operation and expansion in China and India. In the last ten years, Murtaugh has carved out a reputation as the American who knows China and how to grow auto sales in that country.

Under Phil Gm sales soared in China during the period 2000-2005.Phil once said "we knew the Chinese would like the Buick styling." He was right. In fact, Buick has become a huge hit in China. Chrysler wants to tap that expertise and experience in growing the Chrysler and Dodge brands in the world's second largest auto market.

The automaker wants to get on the map in China and India and hence It has hired the top guy in that region.

PS: Cerebrus just needs to look at the Indian cricket team as an example for the fact that having a star team may not necessarily mean a winning team as well.Anyway here's wishing them all the best in trying to revive Chrysler.
