Honda moves to diesel-New honda city with diesel engine

So far staying away from diesel in most markets except ofcourse the Uk,Honda finally is planning to get the diesel range in other markets [about time too].

First up the south african market is all set to get a diesel powered crv

Honda, is all set for the local introduction of a 2,2 i-CDTi version in the south africa markets.

This latest addition to the CR-V range marks the first time that turbodiesel power is being used in Hondas locally. The four-cylinder common-rail unit produces 103 kW at 4 000 r/min and peak torque of 340 Nm at 2 000 r/min (compared with the petrol unit's 110 kW at 6 200 r/min and 192 kW at 4 200 r/min).

According to Honda, fuel consumption on the combined cycle is 6.5 l/100 km. Top speed on this model is a quoted 187 km/h.

The turbodiesel will be offered with a six-speed manual transmission.

The next destination could very well be India because the indian market just is in love with diesel and 75% of cars having a diesel option in their model lineup are diesels in the fast growing c segment and so is the case with the d segment.Give the honda civic a diesel engine and it becomes almost unbeatable here. Also the indian market is begging for a diesel option for the honda city.Is honda listening.
