An open letter to Toyota India

Toyota Is plannning a small car in India only by 2010[Confirmed media reports].Meanwhile I think the only new launch in the meantime might be Toyota fortuner and maybe a pickup truck.

Well this is nothing but suicide. Why do you want to shoot yourself in the foot. Please launch some mid-segment sedan like for instance yaris or avgyo sedan. If there is no product launch for four years it would lead to a very bad image for toyota. Moreover why is toyota, a company capable of miracles not able to get into the fiesta-aveo-indigo segment. You dont need rocket science here. This is the budget[Rs 4.5lakh to 6.5 lakh] where indians will be able to afford a car for atleast the next ten years and cars in this segment will be the ones in demand.A car[diesel preferably] with a boot, decent looks and excellent fuel economy is all that is required.Any manufacturer who could take a lead in this segment would probably be able to cature a major chunk of the market share of the Indian automobile space.

Your small car project no doubt would be sucessfull. But time frame is just too long for the development.
This is a sincere appeal from all Toyota fans in India please launch a car in the mid-segment as soon as possible. We are all waiting to experience the "Putting Customer First" functioning of Toyota.
