Mercedes Benz C-class the most reliable car in India

JD power has just conducted a survey to find out the cars having the least problems over a 3 to 3 and a half year period and the Mercedes Benz C-class has emerged as the car having the least number of problems. The toyota camry comes very close.

But after these two cars there is a huge gap when it comes to cars from the mainstream market, the next best car is surprise surprise, the Ford endeavor which comes up as the winner in the SUV segment.

The premium cars have a huge lead when it comes to lesser number of problems as compared to the more affordable cars. Are manufacturers compromising on quality in order to reduce costs? Just see the huge gap between the more expensive Toyota Camry and the cheaper offering the Toyota Innova.

However to break it up segment wise as JD power has done it ,in the compact segment its the santro which has beaten its competitors while the Maruti swift tops in its segment.Moving on to the next segments its the Maruti Esteem and the Honda city which has had the least number of problems reported. For the MUV segment its the Toyota innova which has emerged the winner.

Mahindra seems to have done badly in the reliability test with both their vehicles the Bolero and the scorpio having more problems reported than the Industry average.Tata Motors too have not done very well with only the Tata Safari beating the Industry average.

Cars like the Honda civic,Hyundai i10,Hyundai Verna,Maruti Sx4,Mahindra Logan did not make it in the survey as they are relatively recent entrants in the Market. The ford fiesta too seems to be not included.Lets hope these cars take the benchmark further up and reduce the gap with the Mercedes benz C-class.
