Not getting the FE what the manufacture's ads claim-Sue the Manufacturer

How many time do we come across ads like the Maruti alto 17kmpl,Chevrolet spark 16kmpl ,Hyundai santro 15kmpl and then when we read the fineprint come across the words under standard test conditions.Now all that could change.

A scooter own just sued bajaj since hence scooter was not giving mileage as claimed by the company[supposedly 70kmpl] and that he was deceived into buying the scooter only because of the high mileage claims.Guess what the scooter owner won his case.

"If they (manufacturers) know that there are no ideal conditions on the roads of Delhi or any particular region, they should not make such claims as it is misleading, alluring, deceptive and unfair," the Delhi Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission said.

It was high time somebody acted tough with the manufacturers in this regard.All this record FE runs and stuff was too deceptive.Hopefully from now on Manufacturers give us real world figures.
