Toyota is all set to sell its trucks in India by the year end through its commercial vehicle arm HINO motors.Hino will offer tippers and tractor-trailers in its portfolio.
Hino will recruit several dealerships and plans to dispatch engineers to teach repair and maintenance skills.
For the time being trucks will be shipped from Japan, but Hino will consider local assembly when unit sales reach 10,000 in each market.Hino's operations in India are expected to begin by June.
CNBC TV-18 however add that HINO is going to set up an assembly base in India by end 2008, and is targeting an annual production capacity of 60,000 units.
Now Toyota how about getting Lexus to India too.

A Market as demanding as India is bound to have been a great test for Hino's reliability and value for money. I hope they are doing well!
