The Corolla was equipped with a real-time GPS tracking device for accurate data verification. Observers from the Motor Sports Association of India (MAI) were present in the car at all times to verify that the event is run within the prescribed parameters. The data will soon be submitted to the Limca Book of Records.
The objective of this event was to highlight the fact that a better road infrastructure is in the national interest of our country. A reliable car and good roads can make inter-city travel smoother, safer and faster. More importantly, a better road infrastructure also translates directly into fuel savings.
“It is our endeavor to constantly prove the endurance of our cars. The success of the non-stop Golden Quadrilateral drive has truly highlighted the inherent strengths of the Toyota Corolla. “ said Mr. M. Kawabata, Deputy Managing Director, Toyota Kirloskar Motor.
Source:A very good average speed indeed[68Kmph],Indian highways certainly have come a long way.As far as the car is concerned, now that is one car nobody would have had any doubts as to whether it would come through this extreme test successfully,it was more a question of how much the drivers could take.
