Volvo India announces pricing of its cars



Swedish car major Volvo Car Corporation(VCC), which will be launching the S80 sedan and sports utility vehicle XC90 SUV early next month, said both the vehicles will be available in petrol (3.2 ltr and 4.4 ltr) and diesel variants (2.5 ltr) at the three Volvo dealerships, one each in Delhi, Mumbai and Chandigarh.

The company will be importing the products as completely built units (CBUs) from the Volvo Sweden plant.

While the S80 sedan petrol variant will be priced at Rs 39 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel variant will be cheaper by Rs one lakh. Similarly, petrol version of SUV X90 can be had for Rs 46 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi), the diesel version will cost Rs 45 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi).

Nice to have one of the safest car here in India but considering the way Indians treat safety and the fact that BMW and Mercedes are now well established would be interesting to see how Volvo does in India.Another thing against Volvo is the fact that people would tend to associate Volvo with being a bus manufacturer[although the two are unrelated actually]
